I would love to hear from anyone that has HD.

Is there a real, noticeable difference in picture quality?

Is it worth the extra money?

Apparently it is, especially if you are into Fish, you can watch a program
called Planet Earth in HD, and if you like it you can watch it again...

Good luck..

As well as England vs Paraguay and if you press the red 'R' button you
can watch the match again in HD

the picture quality difference is massive
the SD picture through the HD box (HDMI connection) has also improved
from the sky+ box (via scart)

Having watched the last England match on plain vanilla Sky, I noticed
how poor the picture was. Presumeably that was due to the satellite
link. That can't bode well for HD footie from Germany.

Sky One in HD is possible the worst of a much better set of pictures.
Artsworld HD had a fantastic HD presentation of Eric Clapton's charity event
"Crossroads"
The Discovery and Nat geo channels have so much superb shows
The quality of the two film channels in HD are great,
The Cricket on Sports HD brought you into the feeling of watching it
through the clubhouse window
The normal SD channels are also better than before for picture quality.

But that's OK those who want to make sarky comments, you just stick to your
luddite ways. Have you actually upgraded to a colour TV yet or are you still
fighting the battle for black & white TV's?

Only if you pay large amounts of money every month to Sky for the
privilege.

Of course.

Is it worth the extra money?

That depends on how much you pay and how much you earn.

You can get BBC HD without any monthly fee at all, and this seems to
be a good deal.

I certainly wouldn't pay Sky £10 for HD and £10 for recording
"services".
