HD DOGS - the future doesn't look bright :-(

Take a look at some of the screen captures here
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds33072.html

Look how big the font is for Sky Sports HD.
Look at the BBC HD Preview logo

Besides their size, others have commented that all the logos on HD channels
they have seen so far are solid colours, rather than translucent.
:-(

The BBC and Sky can shove their HD DOG infected filth.

I will not pay for either service.

I like where the BBC has stuck their DOG: In the top left corner as opposed
to the middle of the screen on top of people's heads.

A bit of black electrical tape to mask off that part of the screem would
correct that technical fault, but then you would have to do it to the right
hand side of the screen for Sky's HD DOG too.

I bet DOGs don't appear on BBC or SKY adverts, will they? ;-)

I don't think they are that bad a size.
Tell you what I do think are too big and that's the signers on signed BBC
programmes. They take up nearly a third of my screen :-(

Mayber they're presuming that HD viewers will be using modern
technology, i.e. not plasma screens? :-)

I thought that Scart connectors weren't used on HD, or are those for
standard definition output?
Regards Mike.

Scart is retained on the HD box for regular SD output.
Primarily so you can still connect external recorders for making copies (in
SD only)

Perhaps that's because it can be watched in 16:9 only? I don't know if that's
the case, but then it'd be dumb for someone to buy an HD box and then crop the
picture.

Then again, look at all those idiots who 'upgrade' from a 14:9 analogue
picture to a digibox that's capable of producing a 16:9 anamorphic picture and
then they crop it to 4:3 so they've paid all that money to get LESS picture(!)

Isn't that - a crop of the picture - what a DOG does anyway?
