No, phoning earns them money as they charge you 8p a minute to talk to
some Indian graduate who is being paid 8p an hour to answer the phone.

If they get really busy on the phones they'll just employ a few
thousand more, and make even more money.

In fact they could one day make more out of the complaints phone line
than out of subscriptions.

I can't cancel immediately - the whole family is eager to see Ricky
Gervais on the Simpsons!

Don't hold your brreath. It's crap much like the rest of the Simpsons they
produce nowadays.. I've seen it.

maybe its the actual programmes being affected that increases the level of
annoyingness/complaints, as I hadnt seen any of those before because I dont
watch Malcom in the Middle

whereas I did watch Sky One tonight for Battlestar Galactica, and so obviously
saw the new DOG and wasnt too happy about it.

although in consideration, were getting off quite lightly it seems :)

AW

I look forward to watching Battlestar Galactica every Tuesday but had
to turn it off last night as I couldn't put up with the Simpson's
banner stretching across the screen.

The way Sky is heading we will be lucky to see any of the programs
hidden beneath a barrage of on-screen advertising.

Became so incensed that I phoned to cancel my subscription, I'll rather
wait and buy the dvds. Got through to the accounts department and they
offered to reduce the monthly subscription for three months but if
thing do not improve I will be cancellng it.

have you tried ringing sky recently?

Yes. Thats why it would inconveience them, but you'd need to call free phone
and on hands free as not to get too bored.

Its the opportunity cost of someone giving up who might have ordered they
are worried about. And they really do not want to employ more people. But I
take your point. is there a freephone no for sky?

However, that said, I do MUCH prefer this latest way "version 3" of
doing it...

To Sky's old way a few days ago "version 2":
http://xs77.xs.to/pics/06163/20060409-vroom.jpg

Version 2 was presumably created because not enough of us complained
about this "version 1" - which remember was animated as well:

It's interesting that there are so many complaints this week, far more
than the other occasions. Despite it being - by Sky's standards at least

Well the difference is that V3 is permanent, whereas V1/2 were temporary

I will say there are odd ones, Future-Drama for instance, which fail
more times than they hit the mark, but some of the newer ones have
bristled with classic humour. I'm about 50/50 on this

When is it on?

Ha ha ha

seriously, this sunday. I don't know about the rest of the tv papers
but TV & Satellite weekly are making about as big a thing as they
would the queen popping into Albert square.
