Free sat cards on ebay - any good?

Hi

Looking at getting a freesat card as I have a spare box, and wondered,
the freesat cards on ebay - are they worth it the ones people selling -
do they need to be configured with the digibox?

They are fine - just slide the card in and watch. But make sure you get
an "active" one. If the ad doesn't say C4 and C5 then don't be tempted
as you'll end up with an ice scraper.

Indeed. They are guaranteed to work and also you will get the ITV/BBC
region that corresponds to your postcode.

I have an old box being unused. If I got one of those cards for my old box,
how easy is it to hook up the box to the satellite dish? (I have a quad
lnb, 2 ports used).

Dead easy. Just a question of running a cable & screwing an F-connector on each
end of the cable. You can try it before you even get a card as BBC1/2/3/4 &
ITV1/2/3/4 plus other channels do not require a card.

Is there a chance I could ruin the alignment of the dish? I don't want to
screw up our viewing. Do I need a particular cable?
