SKy+ box, is it broken?
Two or three times since installation about a fortnight ago my sky+ box
has crashed. Once it just froze and wouldnt change channel, the other two times when it was set to record two channels and i was watching something else, it came up with a warning asking which recording I wanted to cancel. I didnt want to cancel either, so I just pressed 'backup', but the box switched itself off then came back on again a couple of minutes later and started searching for listings. It's a Pace 8ogb one. is this known behaviour or is it faulty? cheers ed |

Now you can go about your normal business and hopefully it will run a little smoother. Can't say about the recordings though as I only have a normal digibox -- Paul (This is really happening, happening) ------------------------------------------------------- Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

about a minute. Thanks, I know all about rebooting the boxes, but it shouldnt crash as regularly as this IMO |

If you were trying to record two programs and watch another that was being broadcast at the same time (not something you recorded earlier), it's no wonder that you received a warning as the box only has two inputs. You can record two programs while watching something else that you had recorded previously. -- Bob |

I have no problem getting the warning. That's working as expected. Here's the situation, I'm watching the football but the wife has 2 things set to record at 9pm. I dont mind, the game is well won by half time, but at 8.59 it says 'to continue watching the football choose a recording to cancel'. There is no 'if you still want to record both the other things then press 'green' or 'yellow', so the only way to get it to still make the two programmed recordings is what? I pressed back up, hoping that the message would go away and at 9pm it would simply switch to one of the recording channles, but that's what made it crash. |

IME if you get a lot of crashes, rebuilding free space can help, as can a power cycle, making sure its switched to standbye when you do that , eg you dont want it to be recording anything when you do that. -- Tumbleweed email replies not necessary but to contact use; tumbleweednews at hotmail dot com |

SNIP change to one of the channels you are recording or watch something already recorded. -- RobertJM |
