Yes, it is.

This is the way it is with Sky+.
You either take or you leave it.

The purchaser has already paid fully for both functions and therefore
should have full use of them without any monthly fee.

Well having a 2nd tuner does mean that you can watch one set of
programmes and record another simultanously, normally this would have
entailed the purchase of a 2nd digibox and a 2nd subscription.

So I can see the point of charging £10 for access to a 2nd subscription,
however if you don't pay the £10 IMHO they should allow you to at least
record to the hard disk but stop access to the 2nd tuner or limit you to
one subscription channel and one FTA channel perhaps.

Maybe, but you can only output one at a time. Therefore the net result
is the same. When one considers that virtually every programme on a
pay channel is repeated endlessly you are in fact paying £10 for
timeshifting, not for two tuners.

I can see *a* point though I don't think that it is particularly
valid.

Indeed.

Yes, it is.

No it isn't.
It isn't important.
Global warming is important.
What Sky charge to record TV programmes isn't

No.
I just decided to get on with life rather than still argue there should be
no Sky+ sub after 2 years of doing so.
I was like you very critical for a long time in this forum of the Sky+ sub.
But I decided to move on.

As it is, I don't pay it anyway because of my subscription package.
So it is doubly not worth argueing about any more - at least from my
perspective

No its not. it does not matter what you do, one day that big yellow ball in
the sky will explode and so will the earth. Global warming will matter not a
jot.

Why not? it aint gonna come to an end in their lifetime, or they could die
in the next sixty seconds.

Stop worrying about how you are gonna die, the fact is that you, your
children and their children will die regardless of global warming or not.
