Amazing, but I'm agreeing with Wes here :-)

Well, It turns out we're all wrong on this one as you probably know by
now. Still no info on the S3 price, but $999 was thrown out by Tivo ops
guy as a hypothetical price. Strange, since that's what I thought it would
sell for.

Actually they sold sevral models starting with th DRS 7000N. I've got one
and it works just fine. It was replaced by the DCR7005. And I think there
was at least 1 more model after that. Don't know if they have any out now.
I think most are in the process of switching over to HD recorders.

Yes, the pricing MODEL may be what people want, but the price is too
steep. My cable provider rents DVRs for $10/month. The popular ploy
with these pricing models is to give a cut rate for the first 6 months,
then jack it up to regular rate. This would work well for them; as
someone said, once someone starts using one, it will be hard to give up.

IOt turns oout those are just more purchase options. If you buy your own
unit, it's still just 412.95 per month. But the lifetime sub option is
gone in 7 days.

Not likely. And if
the sub price is going to be the same, I'll garauntee there will be an
up
front cost for the hardware. I left that at $500, for a total of $969
for
3 years of service. And I bet that's lower than it will actually be.
The
cost to make the S3 is going to be a lot more than the S2. It wouldn't
suprise me to see an $800 or more sticker price plus the sub fee.
Yeah,
Tivo loves you.:-)

See, this is pretty positive proof that you will try your best to spin
thins
to suit your argument.

What this is, is positive proof that I'm not blinded by Tivo faith and
bias like you are. While other people in the group have estimated base
prices of $1K you have said nothing. And I leave it at $500 and you call
me a spin doctor. It's MY best guess. Actually I think it's going to lot
higher but I kept it low just so people like you wouldn't bitch. I can
that was a waste of time and effort now. you can't seriously believe
yourself I hope. No one else does.

No, it's proof poitive that you're pulling number out of your ass. You
are
documenting the un-documentable.

You want me to lower it. Where are YOU pulling the numbers from? Your
boyfriends ass?

I didn't post any number so what are you talking about? You're using a
press release about SD units to define how things will be on the HD unit.
Or is this just another one of your weak defelctions to veer the discussion?

Either make changes that match the press release, or
do nothing as the press release doesn't say anything specifically
about the HD unit. To make up your own numbers is dishonest and
ridiculous.

You're an idiot if you think this. It's clearly stated as a guess.
People here keep bitching and I'll raise it to what I really think
it'll be. $995 base plus sub. Don't like it tough.

And here we go with the name calling. I have yet to call you names, yet
you need to do that as if it was same way to prove a point.

I call them like I see them. Don't like that either, tough.

Ahh, the battle cry of the bully.

HAHA. Careful Seth, Wes has been threatening to meet people on here and

Not the same information by a long shot. The TiVo data has a lot of
details (that are used for Wish Lists and Season Passes) that is not in
the free TV Guide data.

Sure it is.

I've got 4 sets that have this feature. One RCA, a Proscan, Sony HD LCD and
Panasonic plasma.

The guide info is from the TV Guide Channel with content from Tribune Media.
It's very extensive. Has all the descriptive info the Tivo sends along.
Program titles are color coded for genre and can be sorted as such.

It even covers all six subchannels for HD stations that are broadcasting on
all six.

Well, if you don't have any numbers, what makes you think mine are wrong?
That's the point. You don't know crap. It's already been confirmed by Tivo
that the lifetime sub is gone for any of their products starting next
week. It's aslo been confrimed that the S3 pricing will not be the same as
the current line. The Tivo Ops Mgr used a hypothetical base price of $999
just for the hardware. So go tell him he's full of crap or shut up.

And here we go with the name calling. I have yet to call you names, yet

related but you edited it such that it makes me think they are supposed to
