DOGs on the cricket
Dear Sky
What on Earth is that flipping enrmous great sun thing doing defacing the screen. It is making the coverage of the cricket from India almost unwatchable. It is enormous and highly offensive, not to mention unnecessary, especially as the coverage is in 4:3 aspect ratio. I do hope this isnt part of the deal from nimbus, because it needs to go. Or if it cant be remved, at least reduced in size. The infobar seems to be getting bigger and bigger too - the one from the under 19 games was tking up almost 1/3 of the screen. Please realise that some people want to see the cricket, not logos and other on screen grafitti Kind regards |

I actually got a nice reply from a senior producer of the cricket at sky saying he was sorry but it was a contractual obligation on all cricket coming out of india for the forseeable future. He also told me that the local feed has the local station logo on the other corner which is just as big. |

As someone who doesn't subscribe to the cricket on Sky, for the simple reason that I find it deeply boring, does anyone have a link to an example of what's being discussed here?
If you watch sky news or sky sports news they'll show some brief highlights and you'll see the offending DOG. As Billy Liar points out this is the BCCI's logo, but there is no need for it to be broadcast in the UK |

As Billy Liar points out this is the BCCI's logo, but there is no need for it to be broadcast in the UK Well it clearly just means they're taking someone else's feed instead of their own cameras. They're a business and as much as I hate logos, if that was the only benefit of a massive expense then they're not going to do it. Dom |

That isnt a need, it's an obligation. They should have negociated properly so that they get a clean dog free picture and then decide themselves how to disfigure it or not, as the case may be |
