For some reason I always get a little bit of pleasure from seeing
channels I like rise up the list in a quasi-survival-of-the-fittest
kind of way :-)

From memory, E4 will have gone from 205 to 163 to 140, with FX moving
from 287 to 270 to 179...

I'm a bit confused about what's happened to the Paramount channels and
Sci-Fi though...?

I get no pleasure from seeing channels like Life TV being promoted far
higher than they deserve, though. (It and its cohorts are moving ABOVE
E4!). Or shopping and religious channels like YouTV and BEN somehow
breaking out of their shopping and religious sections, and gatecrashing
on the "mainstream" section (they are moving to 146&148)

From memory, E4 will have gone from 205 to 163 to 140, with FX moving
from 287 to 270 to 179...

ParCom, +1, 2, Sci-fi are moving from the range 127-130 all the way up
to 126-129.

Does this mean that the "blocks of three" are being done away with? We
currently have (if you read this in time):

106 Sky One, Two, Three
109 UKTV Gold, +1, 2
112 Living TV, +1, 2
115 BBC THREE, BBC FOUR, free
118 ITV2, ITV3, ITV4
121 Challenge, +1, free
124 Bravo, +1, free
127 Paramount, +1, 2
130 Sci-Fi, free, free

If channel providers are now seemingly no longer guaranteed three in a
row, why not have a wider-ranging revamp, and reunite UKTV Gold 2,
Living TV 2 etc. with their +1 version? Why leave 123 empty?

I think the reshuffle will groups them together so they're easier to
avoid. It would be nice if you could hide categories you're not
interested in. :)

It would be even better to allow viewers to remove whole channels from
their EPG. :)

YES! oh please please kind sky people...and while you're at it give us
the option to shut the annoying gits up at the end of programs. Last
night a woman person talked right over the final gag on a simpsons
episode! Jees, it's bad enough them swooshing reams of info over our
screen during shows without them yacking over them too!

Yes, the guide download with the new EPG numbers was available from
midnight last night; TiVo owners will get the automatically generated
message with a huge amount of channel movements and the deletion of the
radio channels on the next automatic dialup after then.

Those who record radio stations can get the radio stations back by
following the instructions at the top of the TiVo UK forum on

I share Paul's worry.

If they're in the entertainment section then the majority of their

gambling, "specialist", etc. That's how Game Network found itself in
the Adult section.

Maybe those channels are changing their ways?

Hmm, better check that doesnt screw up series links, I suspect it did for
some of mine last time.

I didn't get a link screw up. There is a hidden identity which doesn't
change that holds it together. However the first recording after the
change got stuck on and continued for the rest of the day blocking
further recordings on that tuner.
