I have the SIR-T451 as well and it works just fine for me. I find the
antenna signal strength meter very useful.
Many of the bugs users report are actually the stations sending bad
signals. I follow the AVS forum for my area and there is always news
when a station messes up a broadcast.

The Samsung SIR-T451 is still listed on the Samsung website and is
listed on various retailer websites as well. I have the Samsung T451 and
it works just fine for Over the Air reception. I have not read a bad
review of it.

ATSC receivers have become hard to fine because I think that there has
been an increase in demand due to rising HD monitor sales and the
manufacturers & retailers have yet not caught up with increased demand.
We may also have some manufacturers holding off on introducing new
models until cable card 2.0 hardware is available because they could
then promote the QAM capable models for the digital cable market.

They already have mostly given up on stand alone 8-VSB receivers. Costco
doesn't sell one of those at the store I checked at all.


It might be a regional condition. Today I went to a Costco in Florida. Most
all HDTV's provided a built in digital tuner and only one or two HDTV
monitors. The sizes I saw ranged from 32 inch to 61 inch. It wasn't too long
ago that only a few HDTV provided a built in digital tuner; things have
changed. Maybe they traded with NYC Costco's for ones with built in tuners
:).

Did you check that store last week so that you could actually see and
increase from 13.6 to 66.6 percent in a week?

Or what are you talking about?

Time will tell. I expect most retailers to reduce their stock of
integrated sets as time goes on and as more people catch on that they
don't need and OTA receiver since they have cable.

Did you check that store last week so that you could actually see and
increase from 13.6 to 66.6 percent in a week?


I didn't need to. You checked last week. You wouldn't have lied to
us about it, would you?
