Pace Twin

In the past I have been quite disappointed with my Pace Twin. It has
suffered 'lock ups', 'channels unavailable','missed recordings' you name it,
my Pace had it.
I have complained via this newsgroup, about the quality of Pace support, new
updated software seemed to make matters worse, by creating new problems.
I would now like to put matters right.
Since the last update, some time ago now, I have had not one iota of trouble
with the Pace Twin. It has been excellent. Never a missed recording, not one
lock up, the picture quality is excellent, my congratulations go out to Pace
for honouring their commitment to their customers.
Well Done!!

The latest PACE Twins update certainly improved reliability, but it
still forgets to record programmes. It's now OK provided the box is
left turned off. But if you leave it turned on without hitting any
keys, the real time clock stops updating after a couple of days and it
then stops recording anything (this is a long term bug) - on Friday the
clock still said Wednesday, and had not recorded anything on Thursday.

The late summer Sky+ update also improved reliability considerably, I
only recall one recording failure on my two boxes (the reason I don't
look at the Twins each day). But Sky+ is still subject to broadcasters
messing up the EPG, both my boxes failed to record the new ER on E4,
presumably because Channel 4 removed it from the EPG and added it again
later.

Must admit mine has been behaving it's self very well recently.
The clock updates (or seems too) regardless of wether it's in standby or
not.

I was going to say the same but tonight I had my first recording
lock-up in over a year or so - the one where you have to disconnect
the power because it just appears to keep on recording and you end up
with nothing.

However after disconnecting the power etc the recording was there -
plus the extra 26 minutes.

I always leave my twins switched on when programmed to record - mainly
for security reasons as the sound will still be on.
