Dolby Digital on pay per view
 

I have noticed recently that some pay per view letterbox movies on
DirecTV do not have Dolby Digital sound even though the menu on my
Hughes receiver indicates both letterbox and DD. In particular War Of
The Worlds is in DD but Fantastic Four is not. I thought all letterbox
PPV movies n DirecTV were DD. Has anyone else noticed this?

One would assume su, but it doesn't have to be, as it is not a rule, or
policy likely.

When I tried the DD on War of the Worlds the other night -- using the
optical digital output -- it was only in stereo, not surround ( just
like all the other channels. )
