The 12V Freeview box I use in the caravan has died :-(
The 12V very old Freeview Strong STB I use in the caravan has died :-(
I am more interested in RF sensitivity than anything else, because I mostly take the van into the back of beyond, and even with an amplifier reception is often a problem. Google gives me a choice of six possibles. Audioline TA3000 Digital Freeview Receiver - Tesco Digifusion FRT101 FREEVIEW Bush DFTA1000 Idaptor Inverto Portable Freeview desk top box UK IDL3000T digital terrestrial receiver Digifusion Digital Terrestrial Receiver DTR1 Humax F2-1011T. This is a lot better than last time I bought a new 12V box when there were only two. Anybody have experience with any of these? -- Dave Fawthrop dave hyphenologist co uk Some of my Hobbies: VDU Glasses http://tinyurl.com/c3lh, Wordlists http://tinyurl.com/c3lj, Celtic fonts http://tinyurl.com/c3ll, Killfile&Anti Troll FAQs http://tinyurl.com/c3lo Tyke Dialect http://tinyurl.com/c3ls Curry Project, http://tinyurl.com/1q6 |

Do you not know that crossposting is far preferable than multiposting? Some people may even report you for mutiposting. In future if you wish to ask the same question in a number of groups, crosspost. Thank you. Bill P. |

Some electronic devices rely on the input being a sine wave and don't run off this type of inverter. Others get very hot and their input transformers can burn out. Been there, seen it, but didn't both to buy the t-shirt. -- From KT24 - in "leafy" Surrey Using a RISC OS5 computer |

I paid £230 for a 700W inverter not long ago. Bill |

Yes, I know about how it works out on paper! Shut up and leave me alone. My hangover is getting worse. But really, you wouldn't draw 50A for long, unless the alternator was running. The idea of having a big juicy inverter is so that it has an easy life. Mind you, I know someone who drove all the way from Newcastle to Devon with a 1kW radiant heater running in the shower room! Some of these big motorhomes are built on bus chassis and they have massive alternators. Bill |

But I have a 12V TV and a choice of 5 12V STBs. :-) I have also run thick wires direct from the 12V fuses to the TV position.
