Did Pioneer ITV digital boxes have RGB pass thru?
"Bob Latham" wrote in message ... Does anyone know if the Pioneer ITV digital boxes with twin scarts had RGB pass thru? My wife and I have are giving her mother a DVD player for xmas. The one scart on the tv is already used for the Freeview box. I could supply an RGB switch box but would prefer a simpler solution. I'm sorry I don't have a model number as she is some miles away. The box was purchased when Freeview was just starting although it does have ITV digital written on it. Thanks for any help. Cheers, Bob. -- Bob Latham Stourbridge, West Midlands Why are you bothering with switching stuff to make it all complicated ! You can plug the output from the DVD player to the VCR socket on the freeview box. Then when you want to watch a DVD it will show automtically. |

Only if it passes RGB, which was the question being asked! Clem |

See the OP any response. doing as you suggest he will only get composite video then from the DVD player and the better RGB will be lost. -- Regards David Please reply to News Group |

Then when you want to watch a DVD it will show automtically. Except that it won't have the same picture quality as an RGB signal. That's why I bought a 4 into 1 scart box from Argos on special offer at £9.99. It includes a built-in flylead so I didn't have to buy an additonal scart cable. (kim) |

Any evidence to the contrary would be most welcome. (kim) |

From the manul of a Pioneer DBR TF100GB : • TV SCART Output: CVBS, Controlled audio L/R, RGB, S-VIDEO • VCR SCART Input: CVBS, Audio L/R, S-VIDEO, RGB Output: CVBS, Audio L/R, S-VIDEO One might assume that it would pass RGB through from the VCR Scart to the TV Scart. -- Michael Chare |

Many thanks for that Michael, I will make further enquiries into the Pioneer. A friend owns two of these and is short of cash just now. I'm gettting really fed up trying to remember whether I watched DVD or DTV before I last sat down and having to throw the switches on the scart box accordingly. (kim) |
