Beacuse they're not subscription FTA channels. IIUC an expired subscription
card acts in the same way as a FreeSat card, i.e. allows access to the non
subscription FTA channels.

Because they are FREE TO AIR channels! No subscription required, No viewing
card required.

Your viewing card will now have turned into a FTV card (FreeSat) allowing you
to also view Ch4, Five and Sky 3, which are FTV - No subscription required,
viewing card required.

Quite, It's pretty worrying to know that some people have been with Sky so
long and no so technical as to realise if they cancel they won't lose ALL
channels as a lot do believe!

Better really to tell people to take their card out and see what channels
they get, Then Add Channel 4 ,Five and Sky three if they still have their
cancelled card in the slot :-)

I'm amazed some people think they'll lose QVC and other channels if
cancelling Sky (and I'm sure Sky will hide that fact pretty well if only to
suit their income)

Whilst at it, FALSE advertising by a company that slips my mind just now
(Comet I think) show their Ad on TV "Sky+ box £49.00" but no small print on
screen warning the buyer for that price they'll have to subscribe.
Always found that totally stupid, Does that mean you have to subscribe to
Blockbuster when purchasing a DVD player?....Thought not :-/
