Sky running through house aerial cables
Hope someone can help me.....
I have my dish cables coming into my living room and into my sky+box. I want to be able to watch sky in my bedroom too. I have 3 tv points around the house with all the cables leading to the loft. ie aerial point in living room - cables runs through house and ends in loft.(ready to be plugged into aerial. is it possible to run an output from my sky box to plug into the wall socket in the living room....this maybe sends the signal to the loft and if I connect it somehow(???/??) to the aerial cable which feeds my bedroom aerial socket - would enable me to recieve the picture from downstairs. I hope someone understands what i mean.... i have tried video senders and not had much luck so was hoping i could 'hijack' the wiring already in the house. cheers for you suggestions... |

There is no reason why you can't put the RF out around the house using your aerial cables. Just note that this could have any effect on the actually analogue signal. And you would not be able to switch over the box. Unless you get one of these http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/handylink.htm |

so if i just connect the cables in the loft together then the signal
will pass through ok? i dont have an aerial at all so all that wiring doesnt actually do anything. I will get a remote control sender thingy (lol) also. will i need some sort of amplifier or can i just simply connect the wire from the lounge to the wire in the bedroom???? Thanks again |

Thanks again It should all work perfectly well. Connect the downstairs aerial lead to the Sky rf output. Connect the cables in the loft - make a good connection. Connect the bedroom aerial lead to the TV and tune it to the Sky rf output and you're in - though the picture quality this way isn't as good as you will get downstairs thurough a SCART lead, and may be a bit noisy. if you get a Sky link (see their magazine or www.maplin.co.uk) you and another remote control you can lie in bed and switch channels. |
