Where is the SKY+ remote reciever?

I've bought one of those Archos PVR thingies which requires me to stick a

through.

With these sort of devices you don't normally need to completely cover
the IR receiver. Indeed, I wonder why you are still using the Sky+
remote at all as the PVR remote would normally replace it.

Perhaps you could give some more detail?

Thanks for the response' The Archos uses a stick on 'limpet' to allow the
PVR to turn over the SKY+'s channels as it requires to enable it to record
what it wants.

The PVR has a pass through function meaning that any signals sent from the
SKY+ remote for functions not supported on the PVRs remote are 'passed
through' and repeated by the limpet.

Thanks again, for your time.

Have you actually got this working? I've got an AV420 and can't get it
to control my Sky+ box at all.

No, that's why I'm asking where the remote eye is. Where did you put yours?

I tried various things before discovering that currently there aren't
appropriate IRBlaster codes included in the Archos firmware to allow
it to control Sky+ box.

I've been in contact with Archos and they say it may come in in future
firmware releases. It would be good if you contacted them with the
same query, as it'll put more pressure on them to get it sorted.

Ah. Just cover the area around the limpet with black PVC adhesive
tape.

Though I see from other comments that the PVR apparently can't handle
the Sky+ at all anyway.
