hi
anyone else think the "new look" sky news is crap? the unfinished airport departure lounge with vomit inducing scrolling sky, weather map even worse than the bbc's, presenters wandering around evidently looking for something to sit on and to cap it all - eamon "smug git" holmes!! i though i'd got tvam or that new comedy show at first phil btw is there any truth in the rumour that the new presenters are terry wogan and richard madeley? |

anyone else think the "new look" sky news is crap? No, it's a vast improvement. Most of the on-screen dross has disappeared and for the first time in years one can actually see the screen behind the red dots, logos, clocks and tickers. Indeed the new-look Sky News makes BBCNews24 look commercial and cheap. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. Intro music is better but do we really need 3 newsreaders standing at that stupid round podium each saying a sentance in turn ?!! What have they done with the old set, new home for sky sports news I think ? |

I like the sky active, think its a lot faster. But waking up to Eammon Holmes on half the GMTV set was enough to lose me as a morning viewer! I like the overall look of new Sky News, like the Widescreen, like the reduction in size of the banner and other clutter. But, why on earth - does it take 3 people to read the news - do they have to stand up round a little table like a coffee bar I thought it was political correctness when they had 2 news readers, a man and a woman. But why 3? Should it be even more PC and ensure all ethnic minorities are fairly represented? Perhaps there should there be a dozen readers with one word each instead of one sentence? And why has what was a relatively straight news channel, dumbed down to GMTV levels for breakfast? They have lost me as a viewer in the mornings. Loz |

One thing that bugs me
ABOUT SKY NEWS PRESENTERS is the way they take turns IN READING OUT THE news story. FIRST ONE NEWS READER TALKS and then the other IT IS LIKE THEY ARE FIGHTING to get the news across. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE for us, the viewer WHO JUST WANTS to hear the news. WHY CANT ONE PERSON read at a time ? |

hi
i'm glad i'm not entirely alone! thought i was turning into a GOG no-one else find the scrolling clouds and weather regurgitatory? and why does the news flash flash away half the morning, regardless of the value/importance of the flash - dumbing down? phil "Brendan DJ Murphy" wrote in message ... The funny thing is, even though I have a widescreen TV I still watch the 4:3 international version to avoid the annoying "scroller" which raises three questions: 1. Why is the international version still 4:3. 2. Why do they bother with the scrolling text as it can only distract from the current programme. 3. Why, even though the international feed has no scroller, is that area of the screen still blanked off? Rgds Jonathan |

I can't stand that now it is in widescreen the camera is focused so close to the presenter that when they put any captions on the screen half his face disappears. I don't need to see every pore of their skin - can't they back the camera off a bit. I also miss the sports news at 6:20 - the sportsline at 6:30 is just too much padding and seems to get cut everytime there'a a "big" story. Bob |
