One For All

I have just bought a One For All URC8910 Universal Remote Control and am
trying to find a code to control my Pace BSkyB 2200 Sky Digibox.

According to the FAQ the One-For-All device code for all Sky Digiboxes is
"0847", however my remote reads 'Unfound' when I enter this code.

I have looked around Usenet, and the WWW to no avail; I have looked on the
One For All website (www.oneforall.com) but cannot see this remote listed,
and One For All have yet to respond to my e-mails.

Can anyone here help, please.

I dont know about your specific remote, but lots of One For All
remotes can be updated on the hilariously bad One for All Site, look
around and you will find it. If it can be updated over the internet
then give it a go.

I have always found the free number 9If they still provide one) a very
good service, so it might be worth giving support a go, they willtalk
you through it whatever the fix is.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your response, however as I said in my original post, I have
looked on the One For All website and cannot see this remote listed.

That would be great if I could find the number - I can see no telephone
number on their website and my supplier (eBuyer) say they do not have a
number for them.

Isn't the 8910 for the US market?

That would explain why it isn't on the European site.

Anyway if you can build a JP1 interface you should be able to get it to
work just about anything. There are ready made upgrade files for Sky
digiboxes and some nice GUI utilities to assign the keys to whatever you
want.

I persuaded a One4All audio zapper to control one with JP1.

I *think* there are also some utilities which can create the modem
upgrade tones on a PC and you can update it that way.

More details at http://www.hifi-remote.com/jp1/

Steve.

Is this an EU or a US remote? What is its name?
Does the remote have a modem for code updates?

For EU remotes use the www.oneforall-int.com website.

I don't know for sure, although I suspect, given my difficulties, the US; I
bought it from EBUYER (UK) however it is not listed on the One For All UK
site but is at http://www.ofausa.com/remote.php?type=URC%208910

What is its name?

According to the sales confirmation from EBUYER (UK) it is the "One 4 All 8
Device Learning Remote with LCD Display". The specific product can be
viewed at:
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=91698

Does the remote have a modem for code updates?

I can see no mention of 'modem' anywhere but the US site says "UPGRADEABLE
Technology via ONE FOR ALL Customer Service"; I am awaiting a reply to my
e-mails from customer service.

For EU remotes use the www.oneforall-int.com website.

www.oneforall.com automatically redirects me to www.oneforall-int.com.

Thanks for your reply.

So it's a US remote.

That means it has a modem. You should be able to download the codes
from the OFA-int website by pretending to have an EU model number of a
similar remote and with any luck that should load onto your US model.
Or you could just use the learning function which your model has.

For EU remotes use the www.oneforall-int.com website.

www.oneforall.com automatically redirects me to www.oneforall-int.com.

Delete the OFA cookie and you should have a choice again. I certainly
do.

Yes - I have had a reply from One For All Customer Service Europe who told
me the remote is a US model and I should contact their American office for
assistance.

The remote is going back to EBUYER (UK).

Thanks for your help.
