Sky Three FTV
Sky Three is currently FTV.
If this lasts then coupled with ITV's move to FTA this is quite a sea-change in UK sat broadcasting. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. Doubt it, Men & Motors is nothing to do with Sky, and it's FTA anyway. Sky 3 was always going to be FTV, they announced it ages ago. |

Sky News is not FTV. It is unencrypted (FTA) and always has been; never part of any of Sky's pay-TV packages. You Pedant! ;-) You know what I mean. |

Sky New has *ALWAYS* been part of Sky's pay-TV packages (like now it is part of the "News and Events" mix) - it is just "available without a viewing card" I had always assumed that doing it this way allowed them to give Sky News some of the subscription income! |

If something can make money SKY will embrace it:) SKY want to make money from Freeview hence SKY3 and it'll probably do very well, by making it FTV they also make sure every digibox user can access it as well as making it unlikely to appear on the BBC/ITV freesat system. I wonder if SKY can see some advantage in encouraging a few more channels to go FTV, perhaps those that are on Freeview but still in a PAY package. E4 and More4 excluded, they are too strong to be bought off:) Mike C |

Sky 3, Seachange ?
Yeah, things now starting to "hot up", suddenly there's much more genuine choice on Freeview, Sky are starting to drop prices (some, a bit!), should get interesting ....... ! |
