im moving... sky+ question

Hi Everyone.

We have sold our house and will be moving out on sunday. Will be moving
into rented accomadation till we find a house to buy. The 'nice' people
at sky have put my account on hold for 3 months at a cost of 75p per
month.. They said I can cancel it at any point during the 3 months with
no penalty. (I am only currently 11 months into my contract)

I asked them if I could unplug my skyplus box and move it into my
parents house. (they have bog standard sky).. nad she said it would not
work. although she did sound unsure.....

can anyone advise if it will work or not?

Also do I leave the dish attached to the house we are selling...?? not
sure if I should be removing it...!?

thanks

charlie

ive just swapped mine over to my dads with no problems,

you'll have to unbolt the lnb on your +dish (just 1 bolt) and swap it over
on your parents house and run the cable in too,
took me about 30 minutes to do in total, very easy as long as you've got
access to ladders and a hammer drill and long bit,

i left the old blank dish up, sky will sort that out with a new install!

then get your dad to call sky telling them they've fitted their own box and
can you marry the +box to their card

.....k

They're willing to let you pay them 75p/month for doing nothing?

Wow, they really are nice.

What a rip-off!

It will work but it won't do the Sky+ functions properly so you may as
well not bother. Unless you are prepared to change the LNB and add
another cable, of course.

Also do I leave the dish attached to the house we are selling...?

Yes. When you finally get to your new house Sky will install a
complete new dish for £40 or so.
