Problems with Replacement Sky Box

I've just bought a Panasonic 31 box off eBay to replace my parents 5 year
old Pace unit. It didn't match the TV, DVD, etc.. and was really slow.
Called Sky, after a lifetime on hold got the card tied to the new box.

Unfortunately they're getting a lot of interference on quite a few channels.
Sound breaking up, picture breaking up etc.. BBC channels seem OK, Sky News
is bad. Most shopping channels are unwatchable (I know they usually are
anyway!). I've checked connections, rebooted, and all that. Does it sound
like its a faulty box?

I've read on here a while ago that some LNBs don't get along with some
boxes. Could this be the problem? Pace box was fine, and the Panny is
showing 70 to 90pc quality and strength.

Any help greatly appriciated.

Bobby

It sounds like a duff tuner.

Test the box on a friend's dish.

I never touch used Sky boxes. New ones are now too cheap to make this
worthwhile.

Where can I get a cheap new box? Sky said it'd be £99.

I don't think that £99 for a new (not refurbished) box is too bad a
price. About all that I'd want to pay if/when my $ky box needs replacing
though.

Indeed though you can find them for a little less elsewhere.

I consider £99 to be too cheap to be worth thinking about buying used
ones.
Perhaps you don't.
