Crackle sound interference on ITV on Freeview

Is anyone else getting tremendous crackle interference (random ticking, a
few times a second) on ITV3 on Freeview? For the past few days, ITV3 (but
not any other DTTV channel) has been crackling - this is from the Oxford
transmitter. It seems to be related to the loudness of the sound, as if
there's some form of clipping. Maybe ITV3 are exceeding the peak level of
their ADC...

I'd suspect my ITV Digital box if the fault affected all channels,
but it doesn't.

I've noticed exactly the same thing. I have a Wharfedale DV832B freeview box
which has generally worked very well for the couple of months I've had it.
Tonight, I watched ITV3 for the first time, and noticed an annoying, quiet
crackling during both programmes and adverts. I'm based in Shrewsbury, but
have no idea which transmitter I pick up.

This crackle does not appear to be present when watching any other channel.
The signal meter is on full for most channels, including ITV3. Does anyone
know the cause of this audio glitch?

Thanks,
Sam

Possibly general weather conditions?

Thanks,

Probably The Wrekin, possibly Sutton Coldfield.

If it's only ITV 3 and is not affecting any other channel on the same mux
(ITV1, 2, C4, M4, or E4) then it's probably a fault in the coding or
transmission system.

Another poster in another forum has reported the same problem with ITV3 from
Sutton Coldfield, so it looks like a 'Midlands' area fault ?

Does anybody from the TV companies monitor their output anymore or do
they wait until someone complains?....
