Sky all channels down?
Is it just me? I don't have anyone nearby to ask, but I have "technical
fault with this channel" error with every channel, from about an hour ago (12pm GMT). Anyone else? I can't watch anything, even after resetting my box, so I'm assuming that asteroids have struck the satellites.... well, maybe not... --- avast! Antivirus: Outbound message clean. I'm in Norwich. Can't see any likely cause, all channels still unavailable. Bugger! --- avast! Antivirus: Outbound message clean. Getting my ladders out in a minute and looking for any neighbours with hedge clippers around.... but peed off at the moment, even though I joke. --- avast! Antivirus: Outbound message clean. Sorry, it was unusually naive of me to suspect a system wide failure. I did
a much longer reset with power pulled out of the box and eventually got my service back. Sorry for being a bit of an idiot. Thanks to the responders. Ian. --- avast! Join the Club , The Momentary Idiots Club ;-) This is a two year old Panasonic and I tend to have it on all the time, rarely in standby. Every now and then, if I channel hop enough, it craps out and resets itself, to channel 998 and all that. Tregarding the "technical fault on this channel", i see that once in a blue moon on the odd single channel, but I never had it syetem wide before, which is probably why I didn't think outside the box enough today. Digibox reliability seems to be an issue across platforms, as I know of some awful Freeview boxes out there. And at least we Sky users don't have to suffer a random and sometimes awful software design. But I feel they are all built on the cheap, or to a price.... and just don't have the solidity that they ought to. When my installer arrived, I remember feeling happy that he turned up with a Panny and not an Amstrad, say, but in reality, as I say, this box is not turning out to be bullet proof. --- avast!
