Recommendation for 32" 4:3

Does anyone know of a 32" 4:3 HD set that is less than 32" wide?

I know most here think 4:3 is the anti-christ of TVs so your point is taken
before you chime in, thanks.

Thanks for constructive input,

Mike

Since we've never met, we could hardly be considered friends. Have any info
for me? :)

Thanks,

Mike

If you are looking for a direct-view TV,

"with friends who recommend 34 inch 16:9 over 36 inch 4:3, who needs
enemies"?

I have a 4:3 32" and I am very happy with it, much happier than I would have
been with a 30" 16:9. 90% of what I watch is 4:3. I suspect this will
remain the same for several years. I plan on getting a LARGE 16:9 after 3
years or so, if not sooner, so in the meantime, no point in getting a 16:9
IMO. Now if you plan on using this as your main TV for 10 years.. rethink
it.

By the way I have a Samsung and love it. It has its quirks, but I would buy
it again.
quirks:
-ONE Svideo port ON THE SIDE (none in back);
-Geometry for 1080i was offinitially, had to enter service menu to fix,
but now its great
-Power on/off sucks, you cant tell when it turns on or off except for a
melody that plays like 10 seconds AFTER you press the power button to turn
it on. It makes no clicks or audible sounds for you to realize it is on....

Check to see if your local Walmart is stocking the 32" Sanyon HDTV
monitor -- $798.

With the hope that I won't stat a holy war he

Most of what we watch (will watch) in the next few years is 4:3 material. In
a few years I'll go whole hog and get a wide screen set and a new
entertainment unit to hold it.

Anyone have any experience with a Panasonic CT32HXC43?

Thanks,

Mike

After a lot of shopping and comparing i ultimately bought a CT32HXC43
about six weeks ago and so far i love it. Like you i watch mostly 4:3
material and needed the TV to be 32", and it was icing on the cake
that this TV has a great picture :-)

The TV is just a hair under 32" wide wherever i'm able to measure it,
just as advertised. If you have any questions about it i'd be glad to
help.

I looked at the Hitachi 32UDX10S well over a year ago at Circuit
City. I seriously considered buying it but found the number of
inputs listed in the specs were misleading - in reality one could
only use two of the rear inputs (Video 1 and Video 2). Around
Thanksgiving of last year i went to look at it again and nobody
had it. I was told it was discontinued and couldn't be ordered
from the 3 places that had it earlier in the year. I haven't seen
it anywhere since resuming my 32" TV search several months ago.

The Panny on the other hand has 2 rear component inputs
plus 3 rear composite inputs (two of which also have an S jack)
It also has a switchable fixed/variable audio output which
i needed for my Panasonic home theater reciever. Nice.
