There's going to be a shuffle of the EPG positions on 18th October.
Channel 13 is currently occupied by S4C2, which will be moving to 86. Once S4C2 is out of the way, More4 can move nationwide to 13, which has the advantage of (a) being a lower number, (b) next to E4 on 14 Full details on the changes he http://www.sbmedia.netfirms.com/free...x_page0003.htm It's a nonsense that on Freeview ITV2 is Channel 6, and BBC3 is Channel 7 etc. One day they could rationalise Freeview in a different way, taking account of the fact that there are multiple channels from each broadcaster. Something like this perhaps: 11 BBC1 12 BBC2 13 BBC3 14 BBC4 15 BBC News 16 CBBC 17 CBeebies 18 BBCi 31 ITV1 32 ITV2 33 ITV3 34 ITV4 35 ITV News 36 CITV 41 Channel 4 42 E4 43 E4+1 44 More 4 45 Quiz Call (from Channel 4) 51 five 52 More five ? 53 ftn (shared ownership with five) 61 Sky One (you never know, they might do this) 62 Sky Two 63 Sky Three 64 Sky Four? 65 Sky News 66 Sky Sports News 71 MTV Hits 72 MTV 2 73 MTV Base 74 MTV Dance 75 TMF 76 The Hits 81 QVC 82 Ideal World 83 Bid-Up TV 84 Price Drop TV 85 another shopping channel 91 UK Gold 92 UK History 93 UK Documentary 94 UK Boring Ideas 101 Radio 1 102 Radio 2 103 Radio 3 104 Radio 4 105 Radio 5 106 Radio 6 107 Radio 7 111 Radio 1 Extra 114 Radio 4 Daily Service 115 Radio 5 Extra 901 Adult Channel 902 Television X 903 Red Hot 904 Spice Platinum |

Therefore they are always the first 5 slots in that order. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. |

Therefore they are always the first 5 slots in that order. OK, so how about keeping to that for 1,2,3,4,5 but having two numbers for each of these channels in order to maintain a logical sequence in the multiple channel groups. For example you would access the same ITV1stream by pressing 3 or 31, and the same BBC1 stream by pressing 1 or 11. My idea is to have all the BBC channels starting with a 1, all the ITV channels starting with a 3, and all the Channel 4 channels starting with a 4 etc, and it would never look right if you had to have a gap at the start of each sequence of multiple channels. I wonder if it is possible to have two different channel numbers for the same stream though? |

It is a bit of a bind with Twins since each time you rescan you also have to set it all up again. One advantage of doing this is that the EPG will show the channels you are mainly interested in. Naturally if your box does not have this feature it is back to square 1. -- Richard Watkinson Treasurer Sheffield Folk Festival http://www.sheffieldfolkfestival.org/ Turn left where the chip shop used to be. |

They know the BBC is FTA. They know ITV3 is FTA. They're not stupid. Well Mr 'Industial' stupid or not, by C4's amended web site, More 4 won't even be FTV on D-Sat, it's subs only. http://www.channel4.com/more4/getmore4.html Quote:- More4 is in the basic channel package through subscription on Sky, ntl and Telewest. If you have a digital box that receives Freeview, you can watch More4 for free without subscription. |
