Brian Wescombe popped a head above the parapet and announced forth in a bold strong and almost manly voice: Sky Three is launching on Freeview towards the end of October (details from http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds24574.html). What are the chances of it being FTV or FTA on the Sky platform? Zero |

SKY have no desire to encourage people not to subscribe to their product and they would also have to pay more for FTA Dsat rights with little or no return. Mike C |

What are the chances of it being FTV or FTA on the Sky platform? Hi, I'm sorry to say, but Sky Three will be a subscription channel on the Sky Platform, and will not be free to air as it will be on Freeview. Sky Three will replace Sky Travel on Freeview only, whilst Sky Travel will continue to broadcast as normal on Sky. Sky Mix will also be rebranded back to Sky Two, as it was in its early years. So if you subscribe to Sky you will receive Sky One, Sky Two & Sky Three. Whereas if you have Freeview, you will get Sky for nowt. Sky Three will carry programmes from Sky One & Two |

Sky Three will carry programmes from Sky One & Two Sky's loss if they don't want Free-to-air viewers or would rather people switched to freeview. I will not pay. ;-) The more of us who refuse to pay, the sooner this absurd oligopy will break down. |
