TMS and terrestrial cricket
One of the joys of the current set up this summer has been the ability
to watch cricket on C4 (analogue) while listening to the TMS commentary on 5 live sports extra, an option which will go anyway because of the the ECB decision. -- Richard Watkinson Treasurer Sheffield Folk Festival http://www.sheffieldfolkfestival.org/ A kitten is for life... |

It was even better when one could listen to TMS on radio 4 (LW) and watch the cricket on BBC2. Your point being what exactly?... |

Your point being what exactly?... one of the benefits of c4 was that their commentary team was so good that you didnt need the tms team. also my 5live sports extra is 5 seconds behind analogue tv it would be impossible to watch and to listen to both. same with football. impossible to watch itv2 football and listen to radio 5 commentary. |

Not so here but not as good as last year. I don't know the ins & outs of this but last year channel 4 managed to synchronise their analogue & digital coverage more or less. This year there was a slight delay but not 5 seconds, 0.5 seconds I will allow but I feel it was less than this. Now as I was often working at the computer rather than glued to the TV the TMS commentary provided the cues to avert my gaze from one monitor to another. I still had the best of both worlds and often would switch to C4 to here Richie. I wonder if Sky have opened a very small crack in the door by announcing Sky3 on freeview. They would do themselves no harm by putting a bit of live cricket on the new channel. Eternally optimistic. -- Richard Watkinson Treasurer Sheffield Folk Festival http://www.sheffieldfolkfestival.org/ A kitten is for life... |

Somehow last year they had managed to delay the analogue so that it was near as dammit in sync with digital and hence Sports extra. isnt sky 3 just replacing sky travel which is already on freeview. i doubt they will put cricket there as they will want to get as many new subscribers as poss as football subscribers is saturated That was tongue in cheek wishful thinking. -- Richard Watkinson Treasurer Sheffield Folk Festival http://www.sheffieldfolkfestival.org/ Turn left where the chip shop used to be. |
