Carbon nanotubes on the move!

"The technology in its fledgling state has already caught the eye of
the electronics industry for the promise of ultra-thin televisions with
cathode-ray-tube-like quality picture at a fraction of today's current
flat-panel television costs."

U=2E T. Dallas-led Research Team Produces Strong, Transparent Carbon
Nanotube Sheets

"RICHARDSON, Texas (Aug. 18, 2005) - University of Texas at Dallas
(UTD) nanotechnologists and an Australian colleague have produced
transparent carbon nanotube sheets that are stronger than the
same-weight steel sheets and have demonstrated applicability for
organic light-emitting displays, low-noise electronic sensors,
artificial muscles, conducting appliqu=E9s and broad-band polarized
light sources that can be switched in one ten-thousandths of a second."

Nano World: Versatile nanotube ribbons
By Charles Q. Choi
United Press International
Published August 19, 2005

"NEW YORK -- Scientists have devised transparent ribbons of carbon
nanotubes several yards long that are highly flexible, yet stronger
than the strongest steel sheets."

"Nanotechnologists at the University of Texas at Dallas and their
colleagues in Australia have already demonstrated their highly
electrically conductive ribbons could find use in everything from
flexible television screens and solar cells to artificial muscles."
