I now have a Tivo which records everything I want to watch and when I
have some time to watch the TV there's a whole raft of programmes
waiting for me. I know I want to watch them all so I simply select the
one that appeals most at the time or fits in with the amount of time I
have.

With the uptake of PVRs of all types, more and more people will watch what
they wish to watch when they wish to watch it AND skip the ads at the same
time.

If you surf the channels be it DTT or other multi channel systems the odds
are you will either miss the start of a prog you wished to see or not get to
a prog you wished to see IF you knew it was on. Much better to look through
Digiguide or some other multi channel listings and work out whats on when.

Sorry it was not ment "for you" more of a retorical question, as I thought
that ads were not shown with DOGs BUT having just had a look at ITV2 (no
sound) it would seem that they do have ads, ho hum (not that I need another
reason not to watch it) The current prog Trisha has an ITV2 DOG and a second
one that overlaps it so even the DOG is/are c£$p

Same here, I couldn't care less what channel a particular programme is
on, I let TiVo worry about that for me.

Just because people watch programme X on any particular channel, it
doesn't automatically follow that they are going to watch programme Y
just because it's on the same channel.

Ha, but you forget that the powers that be are still back in the 60's when one
had to get up and cross the room to change channel. So once it was on ITV it
stayed there all evening.
