BBC-i or BBC-PIA
BBC-i or BBC-PIA (that's pain in the a***)
Wimbledon coverage. My favourite channels are nicely sequenced: ....., 701, 702, BBC1, BBC2, .... It's lovely to change matches just using the channel up/down channel control on the box. However, when doing this, the "Press Red-i" message doesn't go away on 701 and 702. [Update, at the moment, it's not showing on 702 which is a 50% improvement. At other times I've seen the bottom half of the message getting choppped off on 701 or 702. So it sounds like their are problems in this area.] I despise so called Interactive - which isn't really interactive at all. Unfortunately, it's clearly the broadcaster's buzz-word of the moment which they feel compelled to force upon us. I'd love to be able to switchall these messages off. STB is Pioneer DBR-TF100. [Rant over.] |

There's a permanent blue *MENU* dog, and if I *press text to exit* it jumps back to BBC1, but all the dogs sit in the black bars above and below the widescreen picture, so it doesn't really bother me in the slightest. |

I don't know if this is possible with any Freeview box. If you watch on satellite with a non sky box there are no messages. The challenge is to know that the transmissions are taking place. There are five streams which include duplicates of BBC1 and BBC2 if they are showing the tennis. I noticed one mistake with the sound. -- Michael Chare |

What - icons of dogs?! -- Mark. http://tranchant.plus.com/ |
