Samsung PROBLEM

I live in Austin, TX. I have a Samsung TS-160 and am only gettin two
digital channels when I scan the spectrum. We have 5 available here.
I have a Winegard Ghost Killer antenna. I am getting all of the
analog channels associated with the digital channels, but no HD. It
is making me crazy i have tried everything. Any advice will help!!
Thanks.

If you do get this to work, please let me know how it turns out. I
currently useTime Warner for HD, and get 5 channels (including Show and
HBO). I am always up for more!

Upliug the receiver to do a reset. Let it sit for 30 seconds. Go back in
and rescan, but do it for dgital only. If that does not work it could be
your antenna. I had the same antenna and had to switch it. Ghost killer
is not the best choice for digital

How far apart are your local stations? I think Winegard is a very
directional antenna, aimed at the wrong direction, no signal.

Give us more info, are they UHF or VHF. How far away. Where is your ant.
Amp? diplexers?

Go to
www.antennaweb.org and enter your address and zip code. It will
show you where all the stations are relative to you. If they are scattered
around then it may be your antenna killing you because of it's directionality.

Just for drill, if you have one of those litle UHF antennas they used to
ship with TV's connect it to the thing and see what you get.

FYI, one of my local stations is VHF, so I need a VHF/UHF antenna to get
all of them.

Have you tried turning your antenna? Have you looked at the signal strength
of the digital channels to see if you are getting enough signal? Is there
any chance something could be blocking the digital signals from those
certain stations? Anyone else in your area getting the signals? Are you
talking about the -1 channels or the -2 channels? Do you have to enter zip
codes for the locals and have you entered all the zips you can (this is for
guide data, so it may not help)?

Not all stations even turn on certain channels if there is nothing on them,
so you may not see anything even if you can receive the signals.

I also live in Austin and have the same receiver. I have a Channel
Master 4221 mounted in my single-story attic and pointed in the
general direction of the broadcast towers and receive all 4 DTV
channels currently being broadcast here--NBC (KXAN-DT ch 21-1 & 21-2),
CBS (KEYE-DT ch 43), WB (KNVA-DT ch 49-1 & 49-2), and FOX (KTBC-DT ch
56/7). ABC (KVUE-DT) and PBS (KLRU-DT) are still in the process of
getting authorization from the FCC to broadcast, so I don't yet get
those. KVUE tells me they anticipate transmitting by the end of
August.
