1. Green or grey screen?
2. Watching/searching 12476H transponder (Europe by Satellite)?
3. Box switches itself off and on frequently?

There is an issue with this I have read elsewhere.

I cured it by removing the dish connection from the box, then change
channel, reconnect and away it goes.

I now avoid 12476H!

Blank screen can't get it out of standby, red neon shows when main rear
power switched on.

Possibly a daft question; are you sure the remote's working? If you look
at the end of it through the LCD viewfinder of a digital camera do you
see it flashing when you press buttons? Have you tried using the
controls on the front of the box?

The above opinions are mine, and Edinburgh University can't have them

Have tried new batteries.
The controls on front, including the standby do not work.

I appreciate that this will probably be stating the obvious, but have you
tried disconnecting it totally from the mains supply for several minutes and
then reconnecting it?

The bad news is thats its probably faulty. Maybe in the psu.
This has happened to me recently with a new Freeview box and an older
TV. Neither would come out of standby. The TV sometimes does if it is
whacked :-)

There are instructions on how to get it repaired.
I had a bad Lidl TV, the manufacturer repaired it twice, then I got my
money back from Lidl.
