Sky Sports only?
Does anyone think it will ever be possible to pay, say =A320 a month
just for the 4 sports channels? I have absolutely no interest in 200 or so of the channels I am paying for just to get the cricket and rugby. Ed |

That's right, you need one of the basic packages too, which is a con, you should be able to subscribe to the channels you want PKH |

Just where you left them - unencrypted, not part of any of Sky's packages, and not getting any revenue from subscriptions. -- Kill all Sky's red dots on TiVo! http://www.ljay.org.uk/tivoweb/ All consumers should have the option that you are able to subscribe to any premium channel WITHOUT having to subscribe to the basic package if you don't want it. I won't hold my breath though PKH |

Once you are on one of those they sometimes re-extend when you phone up again at the end of the deal. I think it may depend, however, on the length of time you have been with them. mick |

I won't hold my breath though There used to be a lot of discussions on this group a few years ago about the pros and cons of a pick`n`mix option. Let`s say you had bands of channels from 50p/month to £5/month (or whatever), and then you could choose a selection that was in your price range (10/15/20 quids worth - whatever you could afford). I probably wouldn`t have dumped Sky altogether if this option had been available. mick |

I'd like to go one step further and have a tailored Sky Sports subscription - I have no interest in heavily subsidising the soccer broadcasts just to get the cricket and rugby :-) Charlie -- Remove NO-SPOO-PLEASE from my email address to reply Please send no unsolicited email or foodstuffs |

They'd have to come up with a completely different model if they didn't have the monopoly on live Premiership football. |

They offered me another two months half price, but once the one day cricket is over most of the tests are on C4 so I cancelled. I said I only wanted the sport and they could keep all the other channels. He countered with 'there is a package that is only the sports channels plus sky one and discovery. I asked how much, expecting it to be considerably less than the =A333 for SS World. he said it was =A331! I said that with respect that was crap. He agreed. He did say, however, that in september there would be a number of new packages available. |
