Sony KD28DL11 unexpected power cycle required
 

I came back from the bank holiday weekend to find no DTT on my Sony
KD28DL11. It said "No signal" for all channels, from two transmitters.
But all the analogue was fine. For the moment I just watched through
the Humax.

The next day I took time to look and it was still doing the same. But
first gambit, a power cycle, made all well again.

Have others seen the same, or have any explanation, please?

So what they used say about you SOFTWARE professionals is still true?

(sorry Dave, couldn't resist)

I expect a power glitch had locked up the processor in the box
As long as it only happens once in a blue moon I wouldn't worry too much.

Rule 1 - if it's playing up and it was made in the last few years -
power-reset first, think later!

The next day I took time to look and it was still doing the same. But

The digi box is a computer. Ask a Junior PC Support Technician how
they behave!

No. It is possible though. A Grundig box I had used to be very unhappy
if not powered off frequently. A software update cured it. I don't
leave my Sony DL11 on standby unless I'm recording something.

If you're out the house you should turn it off anyway.
Anyway, if in doubt re-boot. Most digi-boxes of one description or
another will need to be reset once in a blue moon.
