OT. Broadband got cheaper.

Just been advised by my ISP, Tesco.net., that they have reduced my Broadband
monthly charge from £19.97 to £17.99, and still retaining no download limit.
Hope this is of interest to some of you.

It might be if it were true. They'll let you download 24/7 at full
speed?

512k. Not bad, but not that competitive if you are happy with a capped
service.

I think he meant if you were happy to be capped, you could get it
cheaper.

I am in Hull and our only option is Kingston Communications, 18.95 per
month for a 256K service, what a rip off.

You're not, and I didn't say you are. It's just that for *some* users it
is not important if they are capped.

Your web site does not give me Tesco.net.

My web site ? But you're right, ADSL Guide doesn't list them. For
service levels etc refer to Virgin Net as both they and Tesco are simply
'virtual' networks of NTL.

Your post....

I thought you were reffering to my orginal post, sorry.

I would not be happy, that's why I have unlimited download with Tesco.net.
Maybe that NTL run other peoples services for them, but they will give the
service that they are contracted to give, which may well be different to
thier own and differ between others.

****! I just got a new contract with NTL. 1MB @ £17.99 per month, with a 3GB
per month "soft limit" (not a "cap", and it won't be enforced till later in
the year, where, if you have regularly exceeded the soft limit, you will be
politely asked to move up to the 2MB package). I would have been interested
in this, but now I'm bound for 12 months. :(

What speed is this Tesco package?
