video sender
Apologies if this has been asked on this group before and more
apologies for being a bit technically challenged. I've just bought a video sender and receiver from Aldi and am very impressed. The wife can now watch sky in the kitchen and gets a brilliant picture. Thing is, I'd also like to watch sky in the bedroom - is it possible to run 2 receivers from the one transmitter? If so where can you buy receivers from? Cheers |

Sorry, I obviously didn't make myself clear. I bought a package from
Aldi that included 1 transmitter and 1 receiver. What I would like to do now is buy an extra receiver without buying a package again. Cheers You can have as many receivers as you like but have you considered using a coax connection from the 'RF out' of your Sky box to your bedroom TV? It's simple, cheap and you can add a gizzmo to change channels from the bedroom...... |
I've tried that in the past but the picture wasn't that good - just
used a splitter, no signal booster. I just thought as the picture is so good from the video sender that I could just get another receiver for the bedroom; no cable to run, simple to set up. But I can't find where to buy one from. S'pose I could buy another set and not use the transmitter but it seems a bit daft that you can't just buy the receivers - at least not from anywhere I've looked Vic wrote: "Geoff" wrote in message om... Phol: Quite: You will get stereo sound via the 2.4GHz link (various makes available - Maplins do them separately quite often, Different channels are available - on dip switches or by other means. It may be cheaper to by a 'pair' than singly 8-) Also, if you want to distribute another picture, another transmitter is useful - eg Camera - and just 'switch channels' as you wish at the receiver (easier with the Stealth units which have remotes - also the 4 input Philips does (at higher price) I just thought as the picture is so good from the video sender that I could just get another receiver for the bedroom; no cable to run, simple to set up. Thanks Phil. Looks like I'll be buying another 'pair' then. Oh, well -
at least Aldi were selling them off for about 25 quid the other day so not too bad Phil wrote: In article . com, Geoff wrote: I've tried that in the past but the picture wasn't that good - just used a splitter, no signal booster. To comply with licencing/EC regs, the video MUST be used - do not use them to send audio only (if you do - feed in a video signal from somewhere) -- Phil Spiegelhalter: ==== Technical Training for Broadcasters ===== *RE CUE Mobile DV Multi-Camera Production and Non-Linear Editing* |

Seems unbelievably cheap tho.... Simon |
