Nokia Mediamaster 221T and channel 4 lock-ups

... Using a Nokia Mediamaster 221T, London transmitter. I'm getting intermittent lock-ups (picture freezes) from time to time. Other freeview channels seem ok. Anyone any ideas/fixes? TIA I've had the same box now for 18 months and over the last 6 months have had lock-ups on average once a day. I get a good signal from Winter Hill, and the problem doesn't appear to be channel specific. Wouldn't touch a Nokia stb again. johnnysaint |
Currently I can *guarantee* a lockup if I watch Five for more than a few
seconds. Perhaps related to the topuptv popups? |

TIA I have the same, or similar problem, the thing works for a few days then locks up several times a day, then once a day, no obvious pattern to it. Nokia claim that they will be releasing a software upgrade that will fix the extremly annoying now-next menu problem, but they have been saying that for about nine months now so I'm getting a bit impatient. I might well take mine back before the extended warranty expires and change it for a Sony or something. I recently emailed Nokia to ask for an update on this so will let you all know what I discover. - Mike |

The picture and audio stay fine, it's just impossible to change channel. The only option is to switch the box off at the mains. johnnysaint |

Regards Nokia Home Communications I don't understand why they can't get this sorted, most dissapointing. If you are in the market for a DTT receiver avoid buying a Nokia 221T. Regards - Mike |
What software version are you using? I have 1.6.2 which Nokia sent me last
September. I believe version on web site is 1.5. Later version is generally a little more stable. Certainly Now/Next feature is better but still slow. Peterborough Effect wrote in message ... Hi Michael, I'm not the OP but I'm at version 1.5 and would be interested in getting 1.6.2 to try because the now-next is just about unusable on my 221T. Regards - Mike |
