Help with scart connections generally
Anyone know of a good reference website that helps with connecting the many
combinations of boxes with varying numbers of scarts in the most functional way. There must be a method to follow that would be helpful in most situations. I can imagine some clever guru could produce a flowchart to suit most people. I get very confused myself and have to resort to planning on a piece of paper and even then am not convinced I have it right. I also come across some strange setups that are missing out on some functionality now and again, people who, for instance, either simply can't or can't work out how to record (VCR) from their digibox while watching a DVD on a DVDR. Anyone come across a helpful site? |

Anyone come across a helpful site? Yes I have to admit that there have been times recently when I would have liked to have my hand held too. The trouble is that it would be difficult to say the least for any flow chart etc. to include the foibles of all pieces of equipment. Some recorders don't handle windscreen switching correctly however you connect them, and some recorders will record from an RGB source making the 'obvious' place to connect it on a set-top box the wrong place. Then there is progressive scan monitors, component converters HDTV round the corner, customers who have everything bunched up in a dark cabinet, SCART cables that barely support their own weight. There must be a better way to make a living. -- Graham. %Profound_observation% |

Recently someone mentioned the following site, the contents of which I found interesting. http://www.dtg.org.uk/publications/b...guidelines.pdf I hope this may help you. AJM |

More than a little useful from a quick scan. Thanks. |
