Recording/saving Freeview to PC via PVR possible?
I'm in need of making more space on my HDD from my PVR and therefore I would
like to archive some programs to DVD. Since I do not at present own a recorder I would like to do some burning via the PC. I already have a Real magic X-Card which may or may not be of some help. Can anybody tell me what is required to carry out the necessary. Quality of course is an issue so if it's poss. as near god damn it to the HDD recording. Furthermore is it possible to just *pull* the recordings off if I attach the drive to my PC? Steve |

It'd have been better if you'd said which PVR. I already have a Real magic X-Card which may or may not be of some help. Can anybody tell me what is required to carry out the necessary. I don't know what interface that card has, so you need to use whichever interface is present on both the PVR and the capture card. Best quality is RGB, next best is S-video, and composite-video is the poorest. Furthermore is it possible to just *pull* the recordings off if I attach the drive to my PC? Usually not. There's been some success with the Pace Twin. See: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TwinRIP/ -- Dave Farrance |

I don't know why that should matter all scart out. FTI it's a Humax 8000T. I am not sure if it is capable of capturing info tho' from an external source. Furthermore is it possible to just *pull* the recordings off if I attach the drive to my PC? Usually not.
