7 Day Program Guide Roll Out....

Having an old OnDigi box I'm looking to upgrade it shortly to a combined
DTT/PVR box which will support the 7/8 day programme guide.

Can someone advise when the guide is to be rolled out nationally (I'm on
Emley Moor) - and also which are the best PVRs around at the moment
which support the 7 day guide??

The EPG was rolled out nationally back in July!

I'm on Emley and several of my stations do not even get now and next on my
Freeview boxes.

Thin there are only a handfull of existing Freeview boxes that will up grade
to this new 7 day EPG.

My Philips 1500 for example, the maker is refusing to upgrade these boxes.

My advise is unless you see the one you are to buy giving the 7 day EPG in
the shop DO NOT buy one.

Agreed.

I am also on Emley Moor.
The 7 day EPG works fine on Nebula DigiTV, PCI card, but on none of my
other three freeview boxes

Humax PVR8000T supports the EPG, though there may still be some bugs with
it - some channels don't go past 3 days without a little persuasion.

I think some Freeview PVRs (Fusion?) may use their own EPG, not the
"standard" one.

What form does this "persuasion" take?

Wafting the product guarantee in front of it...
a sharp talking to...
taking down the back of the bike sheds for a damned good kicking...
or something more subtle?

I ask because some of the channels on my Humax F2FoxT also only update a
few days ahead. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen all 7 days of
the EPG filled for all available channels.

So how do you persuade your Humax to show more?

Hmm they are actually refusing to do it now? :( I heard they were just
taking ages to get it out the door. Damn :( I specifically looked at
specs for EPG when I got it too :(

They deny thier specs. say it is upgradeable to 7 day EPG.
They definately have told me several times there will be no update to 7 day
EPG.
If you can prove you have a spec. that says they can upgrade please help us
all by going to Trading Standards.

I believe the FoxT is still waiting for an OTA update for the correct
functioning of 7 day epg... until then.....

wanders of to check the 8000T epg :-)

It says this on their website. To me that means it has a 7 day program
guide...

" User interface : 7 day electronic program guide, Automatic program
list update, Multiple subtitles supported, Now & next ESG, On screen
display on TV, Software upgrade over the air, TV and radio mode"
