Options on connecting Matsui DTR1 to tv with no scart.
As a present I've been given a Matsui DTR1 Freeview box. It was bought on
the assumption that the RF out mentioned on the box was a true output, not just a loop-thru. The reason for this is that the tv to which the box was to be connected does not have a scart input. Is there a cheap and simple way to go from scart to UHF in a stand alone box? |

You can wire the box to the back of your video, and watch freeview through it. If no video, or existing one hasn't got scart, you may find somebody close has thrown out one - you won't need it in good mechanical condition to do the above. -- Adrian C |

Yes, it's called a modulator, and will cost you just under thirty of your Earth pounds. http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/mod...moduleno=33050 Owain |
Colin,
You need a modulator; but if you look around carefully in cometdixonscurry's you'll find that VCR's are going for around 30-40 quid these days. A modulator with a free VCR attached! One word of warning though; this is fine for Freeview you may not be able to use a DVD player by connecting it through the VCR as the Macrovision protection usually messes up the VCR's AGC circuitry. Perhaps you should have checked the spec before you bought it. FYI Setpal boxes have a modulator. Or get a new TV. Regards Mike. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
