Humax F2-Fox T STB

Just bought a Humax F2-FOX box an am well pleased with the
performance.

However the software version shows as MGFTF1.00.09 3 December 2003. I
tried the user Auto Update and it looked but found nothing, nor did
the timed Auto Update (set for 0400)...BTW does this happen on standby
or full power ? Should I try a manual update, if so on what settings
? - reception is a mixture of Crosspool and Belmont.

My only complaints about the Humax is the lenthy routine to delete
each unwanted channel...it found 103 TV and 39 radio channels on the
autoscan, but many of them have either no signal or are unwanted
stuff. And it won't pick up a consistently good signal on BBC Radio 3.

My Bush STB I've installed with the bedroom TV and it too works quite
well, at least all the main channels except five are receivable with
good quality. But now I'm wondering about the internal powered
amplifier I'm using to split the aerial feed. It's an oldish Maplin
model Maxview PSB2C [Typ Gain 9.56dB per outlet and Typ Noise 3.5dB],
- could I get something better than this ?

You can get software updates via www.humaxdigital.com/hcsa/ although you
will need to register.

Don't delete them individually, delete them together.

Go to Menu|Edit Channels|Edit Channel Lists
This should default to TV, so then select Radio if required. Select the
channels you want rid of and then select delete.

Alternatively, at Installation, just don't select the channels you don't
want in the first place.
