Visionplus digital TV CARD opinions

I've read the reviews for the Visionplus TV PC card but still don't know
where it sits with respect to the Hauppage Nova-T.

What particularly interests me is the picture quality and the time lag
between flipping channels.. e.g. one VisionPlus owner mentioned 2 seconds,
is the Nova-T quicker?

Cheers in advance

I was just about to order one of these, theres a review here
http://www.digitalradiotech.co.uk/vi...pci_review.htm

You can also get it from pcnextday.co.uk for a similar price.

Hope this helps.

I've got the visionplus usb - channel changing speed is reasonable - not
quite as good picture as my nebula pc card had. One disadvantage is lack
of digital text and the Parliamentary channel is sound only.

My main problem with this card (which is otherwise very satisfactory) is
that when it decides it has lost the signal (for whatever reason -
presumably impulse interference from time to time) it stays lost. If I am
recording a programme, I can come back and find a box on the screen saying
it has lost the signal and it terminates the recording there and then,
saving whatever truncated version of the programme it has got so far. On a
VCR, the picture and/or sound breaks up for a second or two, but the
recording continues and the programme comes back. The only way I know of to
persuade the VisionDTV card to receive again is to change channel.

The drivers which came with mine weren't the latest - I got updated ones
from their website, but they didn't seem to be very different.

BTW, the delivery service from Vadim was excellent - confirmatory e-mails at
three stages in the process and delivery the next day.

You can also press the stop button and then the play button, which has the
same effect.

I've had the same problem of sudden signal drops and I find the situation
improves with a bigger aerial, although it still happens occasionally.

Also, mine is an indoor aerial, which probably doesn't help matters.

Thank you, Steven - that's helpful to know (though not as helpful as a magic
solution would have been to make it go on recording and looking for a signal
again!).

My card is fed from a loft aerial, and it's certainly capable of being
improved - it was the original aerial for the tv until I replaced that one.
Both aerials have CT100 downleads, which helped. The feed to the tv is
almost glitchless, but it looks as though it's the VisionPlus card which is
more fussy. I shall have to play with a better aerial and/or amplification.
