Signal strength vs signal quality
Hello,
I realigned my dish the other day using an old sat finder (a lights+sound version). To cut a long story short, I lost the signal so had to go out and buy a 'coil' sat finder ('swing meter' plus sound). I have now aligned my dish and I have 90% signal strength, but only 20% signal quality. Could somebody tell me how this is possible? I no longer have BBC or ITV while C4 and C5 constantly break-up. Before I f*cked around with it, all was working! Some extra info: the cable/connector from my LNB looks like it needs to be redone (I will do this tomorrow), also I swivelled the LNB around in its axis to see if this changed anything (OK, so I was playing at this stage), and I am not sure if it has finished in the original position (I will also check this tomorrow). Any help greatly appreciated. Mike. |

The connector should be at the bottom and slightly to the right as you stand behind the dish looking at the sat. This is polarity offset and Skydish LNBs aren't very critical about it.
