Bloody BBC DTT Text.

Useless.

Well not very good anyway. Poxy 24 hour weather forecast shows the
past 18 hours and the following 6. It didn't used to be like this.

And another thing. The now and next info for 5 always craps out in
tnhe evening, showing "Five News Update" regardless of what the film's
called.

I feel better now.

Does anyone bother using the fancy text services on digital telly?
There's naff all content on the terrestrial digital text services, and
then the satellite digital 'interactive' services are just so darn slow
and still manage to miss out 95% of the content available on good ol'
ceefax.

It's ********.

However the text services on some BBC3 shows where it shows the music
played in the show/gives background info is pretty neat - although it
could have been done just as easily with teletext.

And another thing. The now and next info for 5 always craps out in

I'm pretty sure I've seen this too on my Sony DTT box. Maybe they'll
improve it if the Beeb ever implement this 7-day guide we've all been
waiting for.

Well not very good anyway. Poxy 24 hour weather forecast shows the
past 18 hours and the following 6. It didn't used to be like this.

Yes. I'm annoyed at that one too. The 24 hour weather forcast used to
be the best thing on the BBCi pages on DTT - I used to regularly
consult it at night to see what the next day held in store. But now it
seems to show the 24 hours from 6am today until 6am tomorrow
irrespective of what time of day you look at it. Why, at 10 o' clock
at night, should I need to see a "forecast" of what's already
happened, but get no info regarding what tomorrow will be like?

I used to use it at 7am to tell me what clothing I needed when riding my
scooter to and from work. Now at 7am it shows the weather for the 24
hours ending at 6am! Duh!

It is completely useless now, and the BBC News 24 weather is not much
better as the map is skewed so London is huge ad the rest of the country
is minute and you can't tell where the symbols are meant top be. That's
when they are not busy telling you what the weather will be in Southern
Europe for some reason!

Actually, I just checked it this morning and while the times claimed
to span from 1800hrs yesterday to 1800hrs today, the weather maps
showed yellow sun symbols over Edinburgh at midnight and 3am and
"clear" over Edinburgh at 9am and 12noon. So maybe the actual weather
maps are correct, but the times associated with them are screwey
("clear" is supposed to be only used during the night and sunshine is
only supposed to be used during the day).
