merging 2 aerial streams without interference UPDATE

OK, just to let you all know, I replaced the coax to the 2 aerials, got a
better combiner/splitter and put a 12db attenuator on the wenvoe feed.
Reuslt very good quality picuture on all analogue channels (but slightly
degraded on ch4 &ch5). and full digital reception from both Wenvoe and
Mendip - well pleased, all for £15 too.

What combiner did you use ?

I also have a little project to try, I am looking at combining 2
Aerial feeds at my parent house, Wenvoe for digital and a relay
(bouncing a signal from Mendip) for Analogue English BBC1 West and
ITV1 West (relay doesn't have digital or five hence the need for
Wenvoe, and Mendip is totally unreachable)

What is the way to go about combining these two aerial feeds without
spending a fortune,

Wenvoe Horizontal Polarisation (10KW or 5KW)

30 Mux 1
34 2
40 A
50 B
43 C
46 D

Ubley Breach Hill Relay Vertical Polarisation (79 W)

21 BBC1
27 BBC2
24 ITV1
31 Ch4

The relay is so weak that even though there is a clear line of sight
from the aerial to the mast BBC1 West is a terrible picture, I suspect
the Digital Mux1 from Wenvoe would swamp the Analogue Channel 4 from
the relay, thoughts ?

The simplest solution would be to connect the digital feed to the
digibox only. The analogue would go to the VCR and TV. You just need
to make sure that you have a digibox with two SCARTS to allow
recording of the digital channels.

Would it be possible to keep the DTT and analogue signals separate? Combining
30 and 31 could be awkward.

I was hopeing to feed to 5 or 6 rooms in the house hence neater with
one cable with both analogue and digital ........

I supose eventually these small relay transmitters will have to carry
Digital ?

The idea of keeping analogue and digital seperate is a good idea
actually.... let's move all digital to group K, and analogue to C/D. That
way we can keep Bill in business as he spends the next 7 years sorting out
people's aerials. Don't worry about the overlap and clashing frequencies -
by the time he's got that far analogue will have been switched off anyway,
and Bill can start installing all the new digital aerials!
;)

Long time at a guess.
I am an OAP and have just bought myself a nice new shiny professional
ladder. And used it as well.
