Accessing Sky TV from Germany?
I am in need of some technical assistance and hope someone here can help.
My g/f and I currently live in Germany and need access to BBC2 for an OU course. We have been told that we can receive Sky here but of course we can't just sign like we were in the UK. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to subscribe in the UK but get the equipment set up in Germany? Thanks. Simon P.S. My e-mail address is if anyone wants to drop me a private note about this. |

BBC isn't scrambled so you don't need to sign up or get a card, just buy a box from eBay or wherever. You might want to get a new dish and LNB, but they will be available locally, along with fitting services if you want. Colin. |

As the BBC is now in the clear, you dont need a Digibox. The only slight problem might be the dish size required. Astra 2D (the satellite the BBC uses) signal strength falls off rapidly as you cross Germany going eastwards. Check out this page http://www.beitinger.de/sat/astra_2d.html for an idea of what you will need. -- Ross Lockley Galashiels www.analoguesat.co.uk www.digitalsat.co.uk "Sender" and "From" addresses are spam trapped.
