Steven-I see that you're one of the contributors in the 'other' thread I was
talking about! Sorry, I should have checked first. :) Geoff. |
Gent's,
Further to my earlier message - I STILL think that YOU have the problems & not DigiTV. If I disable my Internet connection the auto-EPG update tries, fails to connect & then goes away & DigiTV continues as normal. Mine has not failed at all over the Christmas period & has recorded about 6 programs. I also notice that software updates now come from www.nebepg.co.uk. In article , Steven writes On Sun, 28 Dec 2003, Geoff writes: Steven, I HAD written to them but today the email was bounced! Oh dear, they are really having problems it seems and nobody there to fix them. :( Hi Geoff, The website's back up again now and by a strange coincidence(!) my DigiTV is starting up perfectly again - how about yours? As I see it the EPG updates come from www.nebepg.co.uk but DigiTV checks for program updates on www.nebula-electronics.com. If this website is down DigiTV stops responding on startup and the 'check for updates' button doesn't get any response (if it is working it tells me my software is up-to-date). Easy way to solve then would be to untick the box relating to automatic updates while offline (for the meantime). Strange that the e-mail bounced, I assume you're using [email protected] ? The address is on http://www.nebula-electronics.com/support/support.asp - don't want them to get spammed more than necessary so I won't publish it here! Don't expect any response before 2nd Jan though as the website says they're on holiday until then. -- Keith Bailey |

Not sure what to say really Keith, other than that there is nothing else wrong with my setup as far as is possible to tell, plus of course there are several other people now reporting the same problems. However, as I have also stated, if I leave the EPG update alone it does SOMEtimes actually clear itself when it cannot connect rather than crash. The crash ALWAYS happened when I tried to click on 'close' (or is it 'cancel'?) but SOMEtimes it crashed even if I didn't click that. Geoff. |

Then this bug MUST be unique to 3.105 as I notice you mentioned earlier that you're running 3.104. Don't forget that Nebula have already acknowledged and fixed this bug in a previous version! :-) -- Steven Remove NOSPAM to reply directly - thanks. |
