sky min contract?

Hi,

is there a minimum contract period for a sky subscription on a owned sky box
(not subsidised)? For example,
if i only wanted to subsribe to the basic package over the winter periods -
I do not
watch tv in the summer months to warrent paying S$y;-).

I recently upgraded to Sky World from the basic package, i.e. no films
or sport. I asked the question about minimum period as I plan to
revert to a lesser package once the NFL season is over. I was told
that the minimum period was 1 month.

I don't think this was the orginal quetion!!

AFAIK the minimum contract on Sky is 12 months - even if you don't get them
to supply a "free" Digibox! After that if, you cancel, they will, apparently,
agree to no further minimum period if you subsequently re-subscribe.
